Woof, woof....Doggy

Friday morning passed by South City Plaza and saw a big banner advertised there is a Dog Show on Saturday at the plaza itself. I told dearie hubby I am going to bring the kids for Dog Show and tell him to be prepared to wake up early. Since it is admission FREE and only 15 minutes drives from my house, so why not bring them there rather than going down to KL.

Saturday morning I get the kids to wake him up at 9.30 am and all of us changed and get ready to go.

My Ee-Thern is so excited cos this little boy loves DOG. But not for me and Le-Ann. I just hate dogs although it is cute but I don't know why. Told dearie Suki before "please no pet in the house especially those with fur". Maybe is because I am more worried that their fur will be all around the house and got to vacum the house everyday. I got no such time for taking care a dog.

Little Ee-Thern was so excited and he is kind of brave and dare to touch the doggy. I am so worried that the dog will bite him!

Malay Food For Dinner ?

Last Thursday we have Malay food at home since I have Petai and Ikan Keli in the fridge. I never come across this fish called Ikan Keli until when I was studying in UNI. This is because we used to go to the Cafeteria in our campus for lunch and as you know local university is all about Malay Food. So tried this fish and I love it so much and whenever I go to any Malay stalls for lunch now I will look for this fish.

I ask my Ah Mah, why she didn't buy this fish and cook at home before. You know what she tell me? This fish is actually a " Longkang Fish " and it is considered a cheap fish but for me it taste so good when you deep fried it and top over with sambal. It is just lovely.

This our dinner at home .... Malay food for change once in a while.

Tagged : My Favourite Food

Tagged : by Bokjae
I have been thinking the whole Saturday morning what is My Favourite Food ya. This is hard cos for me I am a food lover too and whatever foods which is nice will goes down my stomach. A real Bandaraya !

So, Ok let me see, well my favourite one will be the Chee Cheong Fun with the Prawn Paste Sauce or we called it in Hokkien " Heah Koh Chee Cheong Fun ". I just love the sauce so much and it is nothing compare to the sweet sauce in KL and you can hardly find a stall selling Chee Cheong Fun with Prawn Paste Sauce in KL. Except for on stall in Seapark, PJ they have this. If I am not mistaken the coffee shop is called O&S and its a corner lot opposite the petrol station.

Whenever I visit Penang for work I will look forward for my colleagues to bring me to this coffee shop at Macalister Lane, Penang for this famous Heah Koh Chee Cheong Fun run by a husband and wife. You just got to wait about 1/2 an hour or sometimes more when they got people from other places take away about 80 -100 packets.

Emmm.... simply delicious and everytime feel like licking the sauce from the plate till clean.

Thanks Bokjae for tagging me and now I pass on this baton to :

Kam Heong La La

Went to the SS13 pasar malam and found La La ( clams ) again in one of the stall. This round is the bigger size of La La. Feel like eating so bought a plate of it and going to cook Kam Heong La La.

Ei- Faye, so sorry that I can't get the smaller size of La La. I ask the aunty at the stall, how long can we keep this La La in the fridge. So her tips to me is to clean the La La then boil the La La in hot water till cook. Then keep in a container and it will last about 3 days.

Here is the recipe :

Ingredients :
500gm La La, cleaned and soaked in salt water
1 tbsp dried prawns, soaked in water
4 sprigs of curry leaves
Some onion
1 tbsp curry paste
1 tsp light soya sauce
1 tsp sugar

Method :
1. Heat 2 tbsp of oil and fried the dried prawns, curry leaves, onion and the curry paste till fragrant.
2. Add in the La La, light soya sauce and sugar and stir-fry for 2 minutes and the cover the lid.
3. Cook for about 5 minutes until the La La shell opened up. Dish up and serve.

Emperor Chicken

This is the last whole kampung chicken in my fridge. Since dearie Suki is so scared with the bird flu virus, so I decided to cook the last chicken in my fridge. Dig from the freezer and found the chicken and a pack of the Emporer Chicken Seasoning.

This is another easy recipe for the busy mommy like me. You just need to marinate the whole chicken with the seasoning. Preferably overnight. Then wrapped up the chicken with the cling paper and the aluminium foil. After that put into the slow cooker and steam for 4 hours.

The aroma of the chicken is so nice and full with herbal aroma when you opened up the aluminium foil. Hubby Suki just love it.

Stir-Fry Sweet Gourd

Here is another method to cook the sweet gourd. This time I add less water and just stir-fry the sweet gourd with dried prawns. Also added in some tanghoon or glass noodles.

You can obtain the recipes from here. Remember to add less water. Enjoy !

3 tbsp tomato sauce
1 tbsp chilli sauce
1 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp vinegar
1/2 cup of water

Method :
1. Marinade the minced pork with the marinade ingredients preferably overnight.
2. Shape the minced pork into small balls. Then deep fry in hot oil until golden brown and set aside.
