Father & Son... So Funny

We had a family reunion dinner last Saturday with Uncle HH and family. After the dinner we went back to Ah Mah's house. My sis and my cousins are playing mahjong and me sitting next to them watching them playing. Me, after so many years, I never understand how to play mahjong till today.
Me and Joe were testing the flash on my camera phone and we tried snapping some pictures. My BIL and my nephew refuse to let us snap their picture and ended up this is what we get. Hahaha... so funny and both looks like a criminal for not letting us to snap their pictures.

Pre-CNY Reunion Dinner

Last Saturday we had our pre-CNY reunion dinner. Every year without missed, me and Sis will buy Uncle HH & Aunty SH plus their kids for a pre-CNY reunion dinner. Reason being Sis will not be around during CNY cos need to 'balik kampung' to Ipoh. Me the most lucky one cos married to a husband from the same 'kampung' just 2 roads away from my Ah Mah's house. So CNY, I will be here. CNY Eve in Ah Mah's house, 1st day, 2nd day and the rest of the day also will be in Ah Mah's house. Lucky right!

I doubt if I married someone who are from East Malaysia, I am sure every year I will cry like hell and missed the fun and the merrier of CNY in Ah Mah's house.

Last Saturday we had our dinner at Sek Yuen Restaurant, in Pudu KL. One of the very old Chinese restaurant and served some of the dishes whereby you can't get in any of the other Chinese restaurants. Dad ordered the dishes and OMG all also meat.

At the end of the dinner I complaint to Sis, why ordered all the meaty dishes and there is no prawns or fish. As usual Dad ordered the dishes. Now you know my family are all meat eaters.

Going to cut short the story and hope the following photos will explained the fun of having a reunion dinner with family members.

Sek Yeun Restaurant, one of the ' Lau Chiau Pai' restaurant in KL

Kids having fun. Run here and there in the restaurant.

Cold platter and Omelette with crab meat and sharkfins ( wrapped with lettuce ) ... Yummy

Wah all of us are so full and hardly can finish the last 2 dishes and got to tapau back. Total bill came out to be RM487 and I sharing the bill with Sis. Not too bad huh, but I think is too much meat. Next week there will be another dinner and this round Uncle HH will buy us and family. Venue yet to know and I am looking forward for the dinner. Oh NO, I am going to gain more weight!

Tiramisu For Dad's Birthday

Dad's Chinese Birthday falls on tomorrow ( in chinese calendar 29th August ). We celebrated for him in Ah Mah's house yesterday since we have a stemboat 'makan' feast again to entertain one of my uncle from China.

Tiramisu came to my mind when I saw Wan blogged about her Tiramisu. Searched throught the web and most of the recipes required raw eggs in it and I am not so comfortable with egg in a cake which is not cook. End up I used Wan's recipe to make a Tiramisu Birthday Cake for my Dad.

I don't quite like Tiramisu thought but since Phatboy Joe and V told me they like Tiramisu that is why Tiramisu came into my mind. But it is not that cheap to buy the ingredients. Just the mascarpone cheese cost about RM17.90 per tub.

Tadaa.........

My Lovely Tiramisu Cake for Dad.

V saw the cake in the fridge and I told her I make it and she don't believe me and start asking me am I serious. Off course, I told her it is really make by me and I told her got pictures to prove that it is make by me. Even dad also asked the same question after his cake cutting session ' You make that cake ah'..... 'Yes la, Pa, I make one leh'

Hihihi... I think I can start taking order for my Tiramisu d. Hahaha... again my cake finished within 20 minutes and left 2 last pieces and Aunty Ah Choo 'tapau' for her son and DIL.

Little girl missed the cake cutting session cos she fall asleep and its rain heavily that afternoon and weather is a bit cold and windy. When she woke up, she kept crying that she want to cut the cake with 'KungKung'. What to do girl, who asked you don't want to sleep earlier with 'Didi'!

Another Surprise From Hubby

Last Friday after I came back from JB, Dearie Suki picked me up at the UPM rest area. In the car the told me he got something for me. Huh... I also blur blur what is he trying to say to me. Then ...ta da.... he took out a small black casing and pass it to me and say "Nah, for you".

To my surprised, hooray, yahoo,... he got me a new CANON Ixus 70 digital camera a very much smaller version almost doubled the smaller size from my current old junk SONY Cyber Shot. I've been talking and asking his opinion that at the end of the year I am going to use part of my bonus to get myself either a new camera or a handphone and after much consideration I think its better to get smaller version of camera instead of handphone. I am not those 'canggih' person who opt for 'canggih' handphone as long as I can call out and SMS will do.

My Dearie Suki is quite a sensitive person and that is why he always give me surprises. I asked him how much is the camera and he told me RM1000 plus. Wah, so expensive one ah, he must be crazy man. Then he start telling me he pity me cos always carry the old junk around some more so bulky and heavy. Hahaha... atleast he understand me.

MY NEW CANON IXUS 70

Thickness of the size is only 1.2cm and its 7.1 Mega Pixels. Wah so light and small.

BYE BYE SONY CYBER SHOT

My old junk will always remember it and this camera has a sentimental value to me. Its the first camera my Dearie Suki bought for me during our wedding day. So I will keep it.

My Dearie Suki friend, PK, MSN me yesterday night and this afternoon asking me how is the camera cos he is having the same model too and apparently he recommended this model to my Dearie Suki. So, PK if you are reading my blog, I have yet to explore the function and must slowly, slowly see through and try to snap some shots.

Brought back the camera to Ah Mah's house last Sunday and show off to Phatboy Joe and V. Both of them test out the function of the camera and taken some photos of the kids with the camera. Result is not too bad and quite a clear shot of the following pictures.

Kids riding bicycles outside Ah Mah's house and even my Ee-Thern dare to sit at the back of the big bicycle and let Faye Ah Yi fetch him. Look at them its like CITY KIDS out from JAIL.

Phatboy Joe is always the kids favourite 'Kau Fu'.

To my Dearie Suki - Thank you so much and most of all LOVE YOU SO MUCH for giving me more and more surprises. So my next target item is to change my old junk - handphone. Hahaha...will this another surprises from him ?

4 Hours Out With Sis

Yesterday I had very bad headache, bodyache, here pain there pain end up go and see doctor and found out I got a very bad red throat. Hahaha... doctor gave me MC to rest at home. After sending the kids to the babysitter house called Sis and asked her where is she and asked her again whether want to go back Ah Mah's house or not. She told me she wanted to got facial after her piano class but not even 1 minute she called back and said she can cancel her facial. Hahaha... knowing her 'kaki jalan' end up I told her lets go buy 'Warm Clothing' for my coming trip.

We meet up in MV at about 1 pm and we went to Jusco to 'tah pau' the sushi for lunch to save up the time eating in a restaurant cos she got another piano class at 5pm. Sis belanja me since she is now OKK ( orang kaya-kaya) d :) We had assorted sushi, popcorn chicken, fried calamari rings, teriyaki chicken and fried vegetables tempura for lunch. Both of us eat at the bench outside Jusco... hahaha...

After makan we start hunting for the shop selling winter clothings. Finally found Winter Travellers but alamak all exceed the budget my STP gave me. The one I like cost RM899 and I only have RM500 to spend. End up search again in Elle Boutique saw one long wool jacket with some fur on the collar cost RM299. I told Sis a bit too cheap leh, must utilize the RM500 'kau-kau'. End up walk over to Robinsons at The Garden the newly opened shopping mall opposite MV. Wah.., more worst cannot find at all. Aiyor my STP asked me to buy from Winter Travellers with RM500 where got enough. The one which is within the budget all so 'lou tou' and I will never want to wear that.

Walked back again to MV and Sis told me lets go to ZARA. Hihihi... guess what I found?

This 3 quarter long jacket with 50% wool and come with a removeable hood. Just within my budget and cost RM449. I like the brown colour but they only have one last piece and the zip infront is broken. End up got to choose this black colour jacket and quickly 'sapu' this last piece of jacket and still left RM51 from my budget. Should I utilize it ? Well, better not scared my STP taruk me kau kau. Anyway can't find a scarf with RM51, lets forget about it.

After 'yam char' with Sis at Kim Gary, we went back and I reached home at about 5 pm and continue my sleep after eating the medicines. Woke up at 6.30 pm and head on to pick up the kids at the babysitter house. My mission completed. Tomorrow got to go back to office again and prepare all the reports, orders, business review presentation to be presented to my UL principal in Germany. Sigh....Another busy week ahead, how I wish I don't need to work and finish paying off my house installment like Sis.

Ee-Thern's Birthday Celebration

Today we celebrated Ee-Thern's 2nd Birthday at Ah Mah's house. Ee-Thern's birthday fall on next Tuesday 25th September and we celebrated earlier together with mom's birthday at Ah Mah's place. For a change this round we had Asam Laksa instead of Steamboat. Since, the maid is no longer here, dad help me out to cook Asam Laksa. Luckily today the kids behave very well and they play themselves at Ah Mah's house without disturbing me. Mom help me to look after them and me and dad busy in the kitchen cooking Asam Laksa.

As usual I planned to bake 2 cakes for the birthday PoPo and birthday boy. Bake the cake on Friday night and yesterday night burned the midnight oil to decorate the birthday cakes. For Ee-Thern, I bake one Lemon Butter Cake decorated with fishes, coral, lobster and seahorse. For Mom, I bake one Moist Choco Cake and cut it into small pieces and layered around the cake and scoop one tub of Nestle Neopolitana Ice-Cream into it.

Here is Ee-Thern's Ocean Deep Sea Cake. Get this ideas from the M&M's website and uses all M&M's candies with buttercream icing to decorate the cake. Total taken 2 hours to decorate the whole cake.

I still think I am not good in decorating cake but this one certainly makes my Ee-Thern happy with it and the rest of my family members impressed with my decorating. Everyone in the house is happy and like the decorating ideas of the cakes. Not too bad isn't it ?

But after that, look at the amount of bowls waiting in the sink to be washed! If the maid is here, eveything will be chuck here for her to wash the next morning. But now cannot d leh.

I quite like the idea of making mom the ice cream cake. As easy as 1,2,3 and we have an ice-cream cake for her. At first I was thinking to get a some whipping cream and some strawberries to decorate mom's cake but end up I used the left over buttercream icing to decorate the cake.

This early morning, I also make some Angku Kueh with red bean filling back to Ah Mah's house. Will post the recipe later on how to make Angku Kueh.

This is for mom using the traditional Angku mould. The bottom one is the Hello Kitty Angku for Ee-Thern. I thought this would be the hit among the kids because it is a cute Hello Kitty Prince but end up no kids touch the Angku Kueh except for Le-Ann eaten 2 pieces of it. Kid nowadays really good life don't even eat Angku Kueh.

Pick some fresh mint leaves from my herb garden to use for Asam Laksa. Today I am too busy in the kitchen with dad, hence forgot to snap more pictures of the Asam Laksa that we cook today. This is dad's recipe ( his agak-agak recipe ) but it turned out real good. Wah so pedas and asam and most of all very sedap. Will post the recipe later.

Here comes the birthday boy, waiting for us to sing him the Birthday song and he can't wait to cut his cake.

My Le-Ann is aiming for the icing on top of the cake.

The ice-cream cake is a hit and it finished within 15 minutes. Then the Lemon Butter Cake next. Both the cake is only 8 inch in diameter and is just nice for us. Nothing left, all zapped out and even the Asam Laksa finised.

My Ee-Thern boy after cutting his birthday cake, cabut lari and don't know where he play with his cousins. Mommy and Daddy didn't even have the chance to snap a family photo with him on his 2nd Birthday celebration.

Little girl Le-Ann after finish eating her cake and taking bath, started to ride the bicycle with Ei-Faye Ah Yi again, outside Ah Mah's house.

All in all, all of us are happy with today celebration and both my kids are looking forward to go back to Tai Mah's house every weekend.

To my Ee-Thern boy ... "Darling, you are one year older, Mommy & Daddy loves you so much. Be a good boy"

Family Outing To Raub, Pahang

We are going to Raub, Pahang today to visit mom's cousin brother and cousin sister who have a fruits orchard in Raub. Sis SMS me the night before that they will be waiting for us at the Gombak Toll at 9 am. OMG.... so early ah, I am so scared that I can't wake up cos still blur from drinking with my ci mui. Set two alarm clocks in the morning and woke up at 8 am. Dearie Suki and the kids still sleeping soundly. I quietly sneak out from the room and prepare a quick breakfast - bread spread with butter and kaya and ham for them to tag along in the car.

Almost 8.30 am and its time wake them up. Poor Le-Ann and Ee-Thern changed clothes for them and their eyes still closed. Finally they are awaked and both of them got so excited cos we are going 'Kai Kai' today. Both making so much noises at the car porch while waiting for Daddy to fix the child car seat. Again they saw some big aeroplane in the sky and those must be for the Merdeka Parade.

Started our journey at about 9.30 am and met up with sis at the toll. Reached Raub at about 11.30 am and we visited mom's cousin brother house first. Wah, so much durian and we have durian and banana for breakfast. Both mom's cousins have a fruit orchard in Raub, and they are in the agriculture fields. We had our lunch at mom's cousin sis house. After lunch the kids playing around in the house compound and riding the bicycles under the hot sun.

We adults start to enjoy the durian and look around the plants that they planted in every corner of the house. Life is quite relaxing in a small town like this. No pressure, no stress, no traffic jam, no entertainment, and it is surrounded by orchards. But I don't think so I can survive here. It is just too boring for me. Dearie Suki was telling me, maybe when we retire we can get a piece of land here and stay here for the rest of our life. Ohhh, I tell him no THANK YOU!

Mom's cousins gave us so much fruits. Luckily today we are driving Dearie Suki 4WD if not I don't think so all of it can fit into my sis car. Dearie Suki call is full with fruits. We have durian, cempedak, bananas, dragon fruits, sugar cane, guavas, chilli padi, rambutan, pulasan, manggis, some green vegetables.Wow.... so much of it in Dearie Suki car.

We left Raub at about 4.30pm and while driving half way, Dad called my hp and said we will stop by for tea time in Bentong. Huh... we just had lunch and going to makan again. We have some noodles and sang yue fillets at the restaurant called Yee Fatt. This is my 4th time there and we eat there quite frequently whenever we go to Genting Highlands. Dad ordered, 'Ginger & Spring Onion Sang Yue Fillets', Steamed Sang Yue Fillets With Mee Hoon' and 'Wat Tan Hor'. Total came out is about RM54 for 5 adults and 2 kids. ( Le-Ann & Ee-Thern slept in the car ).

We reached mom's house at almost 6 pm and allocate the fruits. Reach home at about 7 pm and take bath for the kids and didn't have dinner that night cos still full. Both Le-Ann & Ee-Thern was pestering Dearie Suki that they want to go 'Kai Kai' again. Since we got no where to go at night, I suggested to Dearie Suki let's go to Putrajaya to see the fireworks and it is only 15 minutes drives from our house. After 3 hours of sleep in the car, the kids are so energetic and got so excited with the fireworks and we are planning to bring them again to see the fireworks today.

It is a tiring trip but we enjoyed it so much !
